The Management Team
Stromatec, Inc. was founded in 2003 by Davis, Langevin, and Churchill.
Robert Davis, M.S., L.Ac., Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer. Stromatec is Davis’ third successful small business start up. He has been an acupuncture clinician since 1999. He served as President of the Vermont Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from 2001-2006. He is currently a board member of the Society for Acupuncture Research.
Helene Langevin, M.D., L.Ac., Founder and Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Langevin holds Research Associate Professorships in both the Departments of Neurology, and Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Vermont. She also directs the Program for Integrative Health at the University of Vermont. Langevin is widely recognized as a pioneer for her work on the mechanisms of acupuncture, connective tissue mechanotransduction, and the pathophysiology of chronic musculoskeletal pain. She is currently on the Board of the Society for Acupuncture Research where she served as the Co-President from 2004-2006. Dr Langevin has no financial interest in Stromatec.
David Churchill, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Technical Officer. Dr. Churchill, an engineer by training, oversees Stromatec’s engineering and manufacturing. Churchill is inventor and designer of the original research devices created for Langevin’s innovative research. He also serves as Vice President of Engineering at Microstrain, Inc. – an industry leader in the field of microsensor technology – where he manages a successful line of inertial and orientation sensors. He has served as the co-investigator on several federally funded research and SBIR projects at both Microstrain and Stromatec.
